SASKATOON, SK, CANADA – Affinity Credit Union is thrilled to announce the sale of its St. Mary's property located at 1515 20th Street West to the Saskatoon Community Clinic Foundation. This significant transaction marks a new chapter for both organizations, reinforcing their shared commitment to community service and well-being.

The Saskatoon Community Clinic, a fellow co-operative, has a long and distinguished history of making a difference in our community by providing essential health care and services since 1962. They currently operate a clinic at 1528 20th Street West, just a stone's throw away from the newly acquired property.

"Our values and philosophies are perfectly aligned," said Nilesh Kavia, Chief Executive Officer of Affinity Credit Union. “Our goal was to find a new owner who would continue to serve the needs of the greater community, and that's exactly what the Saskatoon Community Clinic has proven through their commitment to the Pleasant Hill community and beyond. We’re confident that this transition will further enhance the community's access to health services and other vital supports."

Possession of the property will take place on July 17, 2025. This strategic move will enable the Saskatoon Community Clinic to expand its services and continue its mission of providing high-quality, accessible healthcare to the residents of Saskatoon. The Saskatoon Community Clinic Foundation has been a key partner to the Saskatoon Community Clinic for decades, helping fund clinic needs, including buildings, equipment and services, and made this purchase possible.

Lisa Clatney, Executive Director of the Saskatoon Community Clinic, expressed her enthusiasm for the acquisition.

"We are grateful to Affinity Credit Union for recognizing our value to the community and our commitment to the health and well-being of our city as a whole," said Clatney. "We look forward to what comes next — building on our shared legacies of serving the community and working with our partners to expand and enhance the care we provide."

The sale of the St. Mary's property is a testament to the strong cooperative spirit and dedication to community welfare shared by both organizations. Affinity Credit Union and the Saskatoon Community Clinic look forward to working together to create a healthier, more vibrant community.

About Saskatoon Community Clinic

The Saskatoon Community Clinic (SCC) was founded in 1962 to provide medical care for all who sought it when Saskatchewan doctors went on strike in opposition to the government’s introduction of universal healthcare. Born from a partnership between concerned citizens and physicians, the clinic was established as a cooperative and proudly remains so today.

SCC delivers primary healthcare through two locations: Westside and Downtown. With nearly 65 years of experience providing team-based, comprehensive care in Saskatoon — including five decades serving the city's core neighborhoods — the clinic has not wavered in its commitment to community-focused care.

Its multidisciplinary teams include physicians, nurse practitioners, mental health nurses, social workers, outreach workers, physiotherapists, dietitians, occupational therapists, registered nurses, pharmacists, diagnostic services staff and medical office assistants. Together, they serve nearly 20,000 patients across both sites.
