Send money to anyone with a bank account in Canada, and an email address or mobile phone number – all you need is online banking or the Affinity
app. Send a transfer through your online banking by choosing ‘Interac e-Transfer’ under the ‘Transfers’ menu. You can also send a transfer through the Affinity Mobile app. Find the ‘Interac e-Transfer’ button under the ‘Banking’ tab.
Receiving money’s just as easy as sending it! You'll get an email or text message when a transfer’s sent to you. Follow the steps in the message to log in to your mobile or online banking and accept the transfer. Once you deposit the money, you can immediately access the entire amount – no holds and no delays.
Request a Payment
Never again will you need to awkwardly ask a friend for that pizza money they still owe you – just send a request for payment through INTERAC e-Transfer! Request a payment through your online banking or the Affinity Mobile app in the same way you would to send a transfer. The person you’re requesting payment from will receive an email or text message allowing them to fulfil the request.
Make managing your incoming transfers more convenient – register your email address with INTERAC and all transfers sent there will autodeposit to an account of your choosing. Don’t worry about losing track of your deposits – you’ll get a notification every time a transfer lands in your account. You can register for autodeposit through your Affinity online banking.
Instant INTERAC e-Transfer
All transfers of $250 or less will send instantly, without any delay once you hit the ‘Send Transfer’ button. Within a 24-hour period you’ll be able to instantly send up to $500 by INTERAC e-Transfer.
There’s an exception to these rules if you’re sending money to someone you already have a transfer history with. In this case, you’ll be able to transfer as much as $3,000 instantly.
