New Member Incentive Package

The “New Member Incentive Package” contains the following benefits for new members. These offers can be taken advantage of separately, or as a complete package.

The following introductory offers are available to new members that meet the following prerequisites:

  • Must open a new personal chequing account during the advertised promotional period.
  • Must be a new personal membership. New is defined as not having a membership with Affinity within the preceding 18 months.
  • Must subscribe to a $5.00 membership share with Affinity Credit Union.
  • The promotional period will be offered between March 4, 2024, and December 31, 2024. Please see item (b) for further details.

Any or all of the following incentives may be selected:

  1. Twelve (12) months package fee waiver commencing the month you open your account.
    • Applicable for any personal chequing account, for a maximum savings of $156.00 (Unlimited Chequing)
    • Set up at least one (1) recurring pre-authorized deposit – verified through the account within 60 days of setting up the new account. Affinity Credit Union reserves the right to deem what qualifies for a re-occurring pre-authorized deposit.

      Examples of qualifying pre-authorized transactions may include any combination of the following:

      • Pre-authorized payroll
      • Government deposits
  2. Receive minimum 10,000 and up to 150,000 bonus reward points when you are approved for any Affinity Mastercard® with Affinity Rewards – $10-$150 value
    • Eligible cards include:
      • Affinity Mastercard® (10,000 points)
      • Affinity World Mastercard® (50,000 points)
      • Affinity World Elite Mastercard® (150,000 points)
    • This promotion applies to selected new approved and funded consumer credit card accounts only. The welcome points offer applies to the following participating products: Affinity Mastercard, Affinity World Mastercard and Affinity World Elite Mastercard. Offer applies to newly approved card accounts only – card account must be activated and in good standing at the time the Affinity Rewards points are awarded.
    • 'New' credit card accounts are defined as cards that have been applied for between March 31, 2024, and December 31, 2024, and approved by Affinity Credit Union.
    • Limit of one bonus reward applied per membership.
    • Loyalty points will be awarded to the primary cardholder on the first monthly statement.
    • Welcome points will be posted to eligible accounts within two statement cycles from the new account opening date.Account must be in good standing at the time the welcome points are applied.
  3. Bonus 0.25% on term deposits for the first year
    • Cannot be used with any other promotional offer.
    • Members must qualify as new, personal membership.
    • Investments must be made into a fixed non-redeemable term product only. Flex terms, Investors Savings, and Everyday Savings accounts do not apply.
    • Investments are non-redeemable and must be held until maturity.
    • Applies to both registered and non-registered products.
    • Deposit must be made in the first year of membership (less than 365 days from the purchase of the member share).
  4. No consumer loan or line of credit application fees.
    • Where fees apply, application fees will be waived upon the approved application of a consumer loan or consumer line of credit.
    • Loans must be intended for personal usage only.
    • Application must start in the first year of membership (less than 365 days from the purchase of the member share).
    • All other applicable loan fees apply (ex. $2 monthly LOC fee)
  5. Access to Affinity Member Perks
    • Direct members to sign up for Affinity First in Line to be notified by text of advance ticket sales to concerts and events in Saskatoon and Regina.
    • Check the Member Perks page to review exclusive discounts for Affinity members at select venues and events throughout the province.

The following terms and conditions apply to incentives (1. through 5.):

  1. Account must be maintained in good standing.
  2. To be eligible for the promotional offer, the account package cannot be downgraded or changed to any other than those listed above for up to 30 days after the promotional period (December 31, 2024).
  3. Only one (1) offer per eligible personal member, even if the eligible personal membership is opened jointly, in which case only the primary owner will qualify for the offer.
  4. Members with existing personal memberships within the last 18 months aren’t eligible for this offer even if they upgrade their existing account package.
  5. If you were an existing member during this promotional period but closed your membership and opened a new eligible personal membership, you’re not eligible for the promotional offer.
  6. This offer and these terms do not, in any way, affect the service fees related to the operation of any of our personal memberships, card products or credit services.
  7. Employees and retirees of Affinity Credit Union and all its controlled entities are not eligible to participate in the promotion. A controlled entity is any entity over which the Credit Union has the power to govern directly or indirectly the financial and operating policies of the entity.
