The money you keep at Affinity is fully guaranteed through the Credit Union Deposit Guarantee Corporation (CUDGC) so it’ll be there when you need it, no matter what happens.
Whether you have $1, $10 million, or more in your accounts – every cent is guaranteed. This includes:
- Chequing and savings accounts
- GICs
- Registered plans, like RRSPs and RRIFs that we have on deposit
- Deposits in currencies other than Canadian dollars
- It even includes the interest you earn on your accounts
The Canada Deposit Insurance Corporation (CDIC) is a similar organization that provides a similar service to Canada’s banks. The big difference between CDIC and CUDGC is that CUDGC’s deposit guarantee is unlimited while CDIC’s tops out at $100,000.
