Small Business Start-Up Loans

Small Business Start-Up Loans

Small businesses are the engine of our local economy, yet they often have the hardest time getting financing. Our BusinessCents Micro-Loans provide an opportunity to new entrepreneurs who may not qualify for conventional financing for reasons such as:

  • Limited business history
  • Lack of collateral
  • Low income level
  • Weak credit history

Are you an entrepreneur who needs a small loan to get your business off the ground? Our Small Business Start-Up Loans could be a big help! Unlike standard business loans, Small Business Start-Up Loan applications are assessed primarily on the character and commitment of the owner and the strength of your business plan.

  • Operate, or are about to operate, a business in Saskatchewan (including social enterprises)
  • Employ less than 50 employees and the annual total sales do not exceed $1 million
  • Have a convincing business plan, strong passion for the idea and demonstrate commitment to success and loan repayment

Eligible activities include:

  • Getting a product or service ready for sale
  • Research, development or enhancement of a product or service
  • Marketing and promotion
