Affinity locations closed on September 30 in recognition of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

SASKATCHEWAN, CANADA – In the spirit of reconciliation, we at Affinity Credit Union have decided to close our retail locations and head office on Thursday, September 30 as a day of reflection in recognition of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

Although the provincial government has not proclaimed the date as a statutory holiday, we're choosing to honour it as an organization as part of a commitment to our values and continuing our ongoing reconciliation journey.

Please note: The Contact Centre will remain open from 9 am to 5 pm to serve our members on September 30.

In making this decision, we weighed the needs of our membership and the organization with our commitment to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada's Calls to Action

Closing our doors will allow us to take a moment of pause to reflect and participate in education or community events that recognize the effects of the residential school system and honour its survivors, their families and communities.

Throughout the month of September leading up to September 30, our employees will also be participating in opportunities to engage with Truth and Reconciliation-related activities and learning more about Indigenous cultures – all while further demonstrating our overall commitment to reconciliation.
