I’ve been a teacher for 31 years, the last 30 of which I have been in Watrous. I’ve been very involved in our community in various capacities and feel it’s important to give back to our communities whenever possible. I’ve always been a member of a credit union and I would embrace the opportunity to give back while learning more about the governance of this organization.

I farm with my wife and son in the Semans area. We have two daughters, one a crop advisor and the youngest is a teacher. I’m a certified seed grower and have been for 41 years. I’ve been a credit union board member/District Council delegate since 2002, serving on a variety of committees, including public relations and nominating committees.

I’d like to represent the Affinity members in the South Central District and to ask the board, as well as Affinity executives, tough questions if necessary. I’ll participate in meetings and not be afraid to speak up for members. I’m in support of the advice centres having great member service, member growth and member satisfaction. I believe I can represent all members of the South Central District in a positive way.

I live and work in Watrous. I’ve been a delegate with Affinity Credit Union for five years. I’ve assisted in the decision-making process of giving back to the local community and surrounding area through the District Council funding. Some donations have been to the library, the walking trail, the daycare, the curling rink, the swimming pool, the fire department and many others. I have four children who I homeschool, drive a school bus and work from home with my wellness business.

In the past five years, I’ve completed the Credit Union Director Achievement Levels A and B through CUSource, as well as some Level C courses. I take my role as an elected delegate seriously, by attending and participating in numerous webinars and professional development opportunities.

I really enjoy representing Affinity Credit Union members in the delegate role, not only for the learning but also the helping and giving back to the community. I seek opportunities to meet and interact with other community members, as well as Affinity employees and members. There is always time to listen to feedback, concerns and suggestions within our community and credit union.
