2018 District Council Elections

Cast your vote, shape our future!

As a member of the credit union, you have the opportunity to vote for the district council delegates who’ll represent your district and help shape the future of our credit union.

Voting opens at 9:00 am on Friday, February 16 and closes on Thursday, March 1, 2018 at 11:00 pm CST.

Elections are being held in the following districts below. If you’re an eligible voter who lives in one of these districts, you can vote now for the candidates who will represent your district.

  • North District – encompasses the trading areas of Borden, Dalmeny, Hague, Langham, Martensville, Rosthern, Waldheim and Warman.
  • Saskatoon District – encompasses the trading area of Saskatoon.
  • South Central District – encompasses the trading areas of Colonsay, Davidson, Kenaston, Meacham, Nokomis, Semans, Simpson, Strasbourg, Viscount and Watrous. This does not include members with a Shaunavon Branch of Activity.
  • South District – encompasses the trading areas of Broadview, Milestone, Regina and Sedley.
  • North East District – encompasses the trading areas of Aberdeen, Englefeld, Gronlid, Kinistino, Lake Lenore, Melfort, Muenster, Naicam, St.Brieux and Watson.

If your district isn’t listed, it means it didn’t proceed to an election this year.

Here’s how to vote

You can vote in an advice centre
Visit any one of our advice centres during the voting period to cast your paper ballot.

You can vote online
Voting online must be done through your personal online banking.

Step 1:
Sign into personal online banking (will not work on the Affinity Mobile app).

Step 2:
Click on the Vote Now button located on the right hand side of the screen.Voting button shown on Online banking inside page

Step 3:
You’ll be presented with a declaration asking you to confirm you’re the named owner of the membership and that you’re eligible to vote in the district identified on the ballot. To be eligible to vote, you must:

  • be over the age of 16;
  • be a member of Affinity (own a membership share);
  • reside in the district identified on the ballot.

If your name doesn’t appear on the declaration or the district identified isn’t correct – we can help you out! Contact us at 1.866.863.6237 or governance@affinitycu.ca to be verified and receive access to submit your individual vote.

Step 4:
Cast your vote!

  • Click on the election ballot and choose your candidates. The number of candidates you must vote for is indicated at the top of the ballot. You must vote for the exact number of eligible positions.
  • Candidate photos and biographies are provided by clicking on each individual’s name.
  • Once you’ve made your choices – click submit.
  • You’ll be asked to confirm your choices. Once you confirm your choices, your ballot will be submitted and no further changes can be made.

Step 5:
Wait for our results to be announced on our website on March 8.

Organization & Business Members

If you are an eligible organization or business member, you’ll need to appoint a representative to vote on your behalf. This can be done by completing this form and submitting it to Affinity Credit Union 48 hours before the vote is cast. Please note all organizations and businesses must cast paper ballots.
