Financial Abuse of Seniors Prevention Program
Financial abuse is the misuse of a senior’s money or belongings by a relative or a person in a position of trust. Financial abuse is a crime.
The program provides examples of financial abuse and power of attorney abuse and how you can stop it from happening.
The program is an Affinity Credit Union initiative and is delivered at the invitation of community organizations*.
Subject matter is tailored for different audiences. Participants learn to:
- Define financial abuse and power of attorney abuse
- Understand the types of fraudsters and how they operate
- Locate help
- Identify online resources
