Congratulations to Jacque Tisher

Hope’s Home is a unique charitable non-profit organization in Regina that provide community care to medically fragile children in a family, home-centered environment. The children and their siblings experience fun and education opportunities in a safe and nurturing place. In response to what she identified as a huge gap in services and support for families wanting to take these “little survivors” home from the hospital, Jacque started Hope's Home as a family day care in her home in November 2005. Hope's Home, now located in a new facility since 2008, is staffed by nurses, developmental workers, and early childhood educators. There are currently 41 spaces provided for children in this special place.

Jacque is involved in the plan of care for each child and her duties include facility and human resources management, community education, writing grant applications, negotiating partnerships with municipal and provincial government services and public relations. Jacque excels at building relationships with people at all levels. Hope's Home has working partnerships with school boards, RQHR, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Social Services, and the Ministry of Education-Early Learning and Daycare Branch, as well as the strong support of community groups, businesses and volunteers. The word about Hope’s Home is spreading, and Jacque has been consulted about building similar facilities in other cities.

In the words of John Labatt, President of the Board of Directors for Hope's Home, “Jacque’s vision, enthusiasm, determination, compassion, professionalism and resolve to do more for children with medically complex needs and their families have moved much faster and further than initially imagined. She has captured the imagination and enthusiasm of others who have joined her in making the dream of Hope's Home a reality. The daycare and respite services provided to these children have not only added to the quality of their lives, but to that of their parents and siblings.”
