Hope Cancer Help Centre
Affinity is a Gold sponsor of the HOPE Cancer Centre Race for Recovery held each year in October. Over the years, we have been a part of helping HOPE raise over $600,000 to offer support to cancer survivors and their families all of which stays in Saskatoon. Affinity branches also act as the pickup and drop off location for pledge forms from all participants.
Affinity employees participate by getting their family and friends together and entering a corporate team in the HOPE Cancer Race for Recovery. There are many reasons staff choose to participate. They may be running or walking for a family member or for one of their co-workers.
Each year fabric is sold specifically earmarked to raise money for cancer research. A group of our staff volunteered to use this fabric to hand stitch a beautiful quilt in memory of those lost to cancer and to support cancer survivors and their families. A small plaque was placed on the completed framed quilt: Every stitch & step the celebrates courage, support and love of friends and family
The quilt is on permanent public display at Affinity Credit Union.
