Energy Retrofit Loans

Affinity Credit Union partners with Saskatchewan Environmental Society (SES) to provide loans for not-for-profit organizations wanting to retrofit to increase the energy efficiency of their operations. Affinity Credit Union also gives an annual grant to SES to help promote this initiative.
SES provides guidance to not-for-profit groups during their retrofit projects. One of the most successful projects was the YMCA which launched a major lighting retrofit in their building in Saskatoon. As a result, their electrical costs have reduced by $14,000 a year. They have reduced their CO2 emissions by 217 tonnes per year and their annual electricity consumption by 170,000kWh. This is about the amount of electricity used by 24 Saskatchewan homes.
